TORONTO -- Tennis great Boris Becker will be inducted into the Rogers Cup hall of fame on July 21, Tennis Canada announced Thursday.

Becker, a six-time Grand Slam champion, will also play an exhibition match against Toronto's Daniel Nestor on centre court as part of the tournament's opening night festivities at the Rexall Centre.

The 40-year-old German won the Toronto tournament in 1986.

Tennis Canada announced this week that world No. 1 Roger Federer and No. 2 Rafael Nadal are among those confirmed for the tournament.

The top 44 players in the world are expected to attend the event, which is considered mandatory as an ATP Masters Series event. Seven qualifiers, four wild cards and one special exemption will round out the 56-player field.

Novak Djokovic is the defending champion.
